- Deputy President Kindiki has since stepped out. In his New Year message to Kenyans, he assured them that they will start to reap the fruits of the work that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) government has done since President Ruto assumed office.
- Well, this is not the first time the name of Mr Farouk has been dragged in the mud without those making these claims presenting an iota of evidence.
- Unsurprisingly, Kibet is walking the same path as that of top aides of former Presidents.
- The only crime is his closeness to the President.
- The bitterness of those opposed to the current and former top aides always emanated from the fact they would see them as overzealous gatekeepers, who were blocking them from accessing the President.
I have come across a post in social media where the author is alleging that the Deputy President Professor Kithure Kindiki was slapped by President William Ruto’s Personal Assistant (PA), Farouk Kibet.
The author, who took advantage of the absence of Deputy President Kithure Kindiki in public events during the festive season, did not bother to prove these claims.
One would have expected him to answer two questions. When did this happen? Where the incident did took place? What caused the altercation and how did it end up in a slap? The author, however, failed to do so. As a result, this story had been cooked and it was fake.
Deputy President Kindiki has since stepped out. In his New Year message to Kenyans, he assured them that they will start to reap the fruits of the work that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) government has done since President Ruto assumed office.

When he was at the helm of power, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is one of those who believed in Farouk.
I recall how he showered Dr Ruto’s PA with accolades when he attended an event organized by Kibet.
Mr Kibet is a good man. We admire his work of handling the President’s diary. He would only allow state officials and other patriotic Kenyans, who believed in Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), to access the President.
For those dying to meet the President for deal making, gossips and discussing divisive and tribal politics, Farouk would always turn down their requests.
During the era of Kenya’s founding President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, Mbiu Koinange , Dr Njoroge Mungai and Eliud Mahihu were his top aides.
During the era of President Daniel Arap Moi, Nicholas Biwott and Bethwel Kiplagat were his trusted aides and political operatives.
Come to Mwai Kibaki’s presidency, John Michuki and Stanley Murage served as members of his inner circle.
During the tenure of Uhuru Kenyatta, we had Karanja Kibicho and Fred Matiangi.
Back to Farouk, he has been Dr Ruto trusted aide for more than three decades.
Apart from discharging his official duties with commitment and precision, he is a philanthropist. He has been building schools and paying school fees for hundreds of needy students from poor families.
Apart from his personal contributions, he has been organizing the events to raise the monies to support these worthy causes.
One of such event is Chepsaita cross-country marathon. He is the patron. In eve of Christmas festive, he invited the Deputy President Kithure Kindiki to participate in this event. You would not have expected the good Professor to honor the invitation if they were not reading the same script.
