By Nyasha Celeste Makombe Thee Poetic Raindrop
I know at times my words are deafening
As they invade your heart frequently at a high frequency
I know you might consider me archaic, for my ways are ancient
Allow me to be transparent and brief
Permit me to invade in the sacred palace of your heart and make my mark
You are a compelling, gleaming, beautiful, flawless African Queen
One that dies but will never perish, the mirror of beauty
I was a fool to believe when they said that angels only dwell in heaven never on earth
But I don’t blame them they have never been blessed with your majestic presence
They’ve never set eyes on those wonderful wild, timid, round eyes of yours
They’ve never had a chance to see that priceless smile you give freely at will
Not to talk of your laughter that holds the power to set sorrow into joy
Having you is the only sickness I enjoy
You are one addiction I’d never allow myself to get rid off
I’d prefer to jump the rehab walls than lose you
You are a star I can’t do without
A treasure I hold so tightly close to my heart
You are the sunshine on the harshly pouring day
The only star that shines brighter than the moon
The only being that holds my voice and leaves me mumbling till I can’t no more
One being I’m fond of in and out of season
Just know that you are loved, needed like never before
You are appreciated by this poetic bouncing being of mine
