Who is Anthea and what she stands for?
Anthea Thyssen is mother, wife, a social entrepreneur, an author of 3 books and she is an Earthizen. Her values are that she lived with consciousness and live a simple life of contentment and happiness. She believes that most problems in the world was handmade, human beings interfered with the ecosystem of life and brought so much harm, injustice and greed to the world. She is an avid outdoor person spending her time hiking, painting, writing content and spending her time in the mountains and rivers. She loves storytelling and loves interacting with diverse culture. Thyssen have travelled extensively and have a lot of empathy for the challenges that Africa are currently experiencing.
What is your objectives about mobilizing Africanism?
Colonization has brought division into Africa, by splitting up the continents in smaller countries for them not to be economically independent and sustainable, we were deprived from mother tongue education in schools and from participating in the African economy. My objective is to mobilize Africans through storytelling, arts and music. We need to mobilize Africans and deprogrammed their minds. Education in Africa was designed to programmed the colonial interest.
What is your vision about African Continent?
We need to dismantle the structures that was designed to deprive Africa from organic growth. My vision is to focus on the youth, we have the youngest youth population in the world. We need to enlighten the youth about the injustice of the past and for the next generation not to make the same mistakes. Technology have basically advanced our youth in Africa to have access to more information and that will liberate their minds to seek for better solutions to solve the current leadership and economic problems.
What is your mission for the AfriCAN child ?

Are you happy about indigenous languages the way they are well promoted, if No why if yes Why?
No not at all. African schools should have implemented mother tongue tutoring in pre-primary phases and English should become an additional language with an African universal language like Kiswahili as a language of unity on the African continent.
South Africa especially seems to struggle with professional, effective and fluently with meaning interpreters, what is your take lioness?
We are struggling because we need to translate from English to other languages and not vice versa.
Are African particularly South Africans take their mother tongue seriously?
We can do more, there is an awakening amongst our Authors and Poets and we need to write more.
What is your opinion about self expression when comes to African languages?
It is the most powerful form of expression for any human being is to express themselves from the heart.
Do you believe that books can promote African Languages better, how so?
Of course it can, because the books can be transformed into visuals and storytelling via digital media.
How deep is your concern about Africa?
It hurts when I see how the current leaders are destroying our countries on the continent, but it is not our responsibility to complain it is our duty to support our youth to liberate their minds to take their rightful place in the respective countries to bring change.
Do you believe in Unity?
Divide and rule was the real destroyer of unity on the continent and it is time for us as African to unite and build the greater Africa that we would like to live in.
Explain a connection about African people, nature and spirits?
We are the Earth people that we surrounded by Mother Nature through our connection to nature, our ancestors that have walked the continent and we are spiritual being passing through.
Where do you find your healing?
My healing comes from nature, the mountains for hiking, the rivers and lakes for the connection with water, the rain for cleansing and the trees for energy and storytelling,
You seem to be the involved in AfriCAN Women projects, share a little?
I am the host of the annual AfriCAN Women’s Event where we celebrate ordinary women doing extraordinary things in their community.
What inspired you to start those organizations?
Our women need a place to connect, network and just gather with other women to inspire them on a different level.
How did you come up with an idea to honor authors?
I am a self-published Authors and I know the struggles of Authors. In 2017 when I turned 40 in Europe I decided to return to South Africa I decided to honor Authors on my birthday every year.
Are you a passionate full time reader than an author, explain deeper?
I am both actually, I escape into the world of books, and I am also a wordsmith myself.
How much books you read per annum?
Around 300 books per year. I read every day in the morning and at night.
Do you have a favorite genre when comes to books?
No I read any book that draws my attention.
How many events you host per year?
Before COVID19 I was hosting about 6 events per year.
How do they differ?
Each event has its own purpose. I am a content creator and by doing events I meet and interact with a lot of people.
How strongly are your African roots to sustain this sprit of Ubuntu and Africanis in the next ten years.
It is in my DNA, this is my lifestyle and this is my legacy for being truly AfriCAN.
Are the submissions open yet for an annual Honoree awards 2022 and what are the expectations from the potential author’s.
Yes it is open until the 15th March 2022.
In embracing and uniting Ubuntu , Africa we see you brought authors together with their own mother tongue to soaked the themselves deep…what do you what to achieve?
The way to connect Unity is through your mother tongue.
Describe your leadership as an African woman?
It comes naturally because we are the child bearers. Our gift is to lead in our homes and societies.
What else you need the world to know about promoting the spirit of Ubuntu.
The colonizers have decided us it is time for us to UNITE and create the Africa that we want to live in.
