A new outfit that is set to look out and follow the interests of Central Kenya is in the offing.
The caucus, currently going by the name 10-10 Group Foundation is set to champion for the interests and rights of mountain region dwellers.
It is set to increase its presence by championing, demanding and enhancing the locals’ presence in all sectors, both in Public and Private sectors.
The first and foremost issue is to make it clear that they will be expecting Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to take over the helms of power once President William Ruto’s 10 year constitutional term ends.
Indeed, the name of this group has everything to do with this issue of the current President and his deputy serving a full presidential term.

On this note, they supported the Deputy President’s move of proposing for a dialogue between him and former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
While supporting the call, they further noted that it was no secret that President Ruto and his Deputy made Uhuru to the Head of State.
During the meeting several leaders who were in Mt Kenya Foundation decamped to the 10-10 Group Foundation and declared their support for President Ruto and Deputy Rigathi Gachagua.
The leaders who met at Senior Chief Wambugu Palace which is owned by the chairman of Tana Water Works Development Agency Wanyaga Gathaka asked the former president to stand with the current Presidency for the sake of the country.
The team noted that elections are over and so political bruises during campaigns should be thrown into the ‘Kaburi la Sahau’ and forge a united path into posterity devoid of them.
“As a region, our leaders with a national stature led by the Deputy President and retired President Uhuru Kenyatta must come together and unite the region. After all they were inseparable buddies with the former serving close to a decade as the personal assistant of the latter,” said part of the statement which was read by Dr John Kinyua.
The leaders noted that the mountain region that contributes over 26 per cent of national GDP and that may have everything to lose in the event of a governance collapse and so there is need to be in the frontline in always supporting the government in power.
The group supported the government and urged the political leadership to desist from alarmist bickering, inspire confidence in the citizenry and where necessary modestly point out missteps by the government.
The leaders noted that during the Uhuru regime, the region supported the government through Mt. Kenya Foundation while in the same vein they shall render full support to President Ruto government to the end even as they urged the citizenry to give him time to turn around economy.
“We take this opportunity to convey our gratitude to DP Gachagua who has tirelessly lobbied for countless appointments for the sons and daughters of this region, a feat that makes the residents feel well represented in the system. We urge him together with other leaders to ensure that we get commensurate development across our ten counties,” the group appealed.
Lawyer Stanley Wabandi who is the new foundation coordinator allayed fears brought about by misinformation to the effect that the President and his Deputy are at loggerheads.
“They are not just together for convenience and coincidence but have a working chemistry that has been developed over the two decades they have been together,” said Wabandi.
Bishop Charles Wamahiu of Destiny Gospel Healing Church who spoke on behalf of the religious leaders noted that without unity amongst all leaders, nothing meaningful would be achieved.
