Borehole Water
By: Dorcus Manyasi
Drought has been a great problem in the North Eastern part of Kenya due to lack of water caused by low rainfall experienced in the area.
This has led to death of large herds of livestock and even loss of lives due to survive hunger lack of enough water has led to drying of the land to an extend that it can no sustain crops leading to low food supply and lack of pastures for livestock.
This being a great threat in the North Eastern Kenya the government should step in with agency to save lives by enhancing the drilling of boreholes in all the area so as to provide water to the residents. This will encourage irrigation farming which will definitely increase food production reducing the rate of hunger in the whole area.
In addition to that there will be enough water for their livestock and also for domestic use thus reducing death of livestock. The government should do this with a lot of immediacy to save lives!.
