My name is Frank Bateman. I write under the name of F. Darnell Bateman
- Where are you from?
I am originally from Salisbury, Maryland. I currently reside in Pocomoke, Maryland, USA.
- What is the name of your books?
I have published 2 books.
M Possible
M Perfect
- How was the books received by the general public?
I have been surprised by the overall response of both books. I wrote them as an expression of something inside of me. I amazed that most people felt the books spoke to them.
- What’s your marketing strategy?
I started just doing book signings and reading at local libraries. From there I began to read to children in schools. The outgrowth of that was television interviews, magazine articles, and a billboard.
- What’s the genre of your books?
I will continue to focus on children’s books. I want to foster a love of reading in children.
- Are you working on any book now?
I have written 5 books. I wrote 2 more on our mission trip. I will work to publish the next one by March of 2024.
- What do you got to tell the upcoming artists or those aspiring to do what you do?
Please do it! I meet people who say “I have always wanted to write a book.” My response is no one can tell the story you want to tell.
- Do you have many followers, what can others do to grow and get more followers?
I am on Instagram and Facebook. Just keep reaching out. Networking is your most valuable tool. Be open to hear what you should do and where you should go. Everyone will not be onboard- that’s alright.
- What are your future aspirations?
I want to see the mission grow. Personally I want to see my books all over the world. I want to see a world where children aren’t just reading but creating a better world through their own understanding.
- What do you plan to do, to increase your horizons?
I believe I’ve started working on this year. But this is only the beginning. I’m sure if the end will be in my lifetime but I know the seeds have been planted.
- Your last words.
It really does take one person, one book, one time to start the process. My father ran a camp for at risk kids when I was a teenager. He always wanted to make a difference. He felt all he did was a “ drop in the bucket.” I say if you get enough drops, the bucket will get full!
