Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba

Githunguri member of parliament Gathoni wa Muchomba is always sharp and kind enough to share her mind out with us.
It is good to note that Gathoni Wamuchomba is forthright, honest, open, independent minded and very intelligent. To put this into proper perspective, it is still fresh in our minds that it’s the same Gathoni who courageously stood her ground in defence of the poor Kenyan against an authoritarian regime that sought to tax everything. Gathoni stood up and faulted the Government for oppressive taxes that were killing the already overburdened mwananchi.
In a leading TV show, Gathoni had the following to share with us:
“I’ve been privileged to sit both in the previous and the current parliament and I can authoritatively report that you cannot compare the quality of the debate between the two Houses. Anytime the Parliament goes to bed with the Executive, the whole purpose of the House is watered down and loses meaning.
She further added, “I pioneered the one man one shilling one vote as a national conversation. We were told to put on hold the one man debate for the moment. This makes me lack peace of mind because I wouldn’t like to lie to my conscience. According to me, I smell foul play. We have even been left in the national dialogue. Don’t be shocked to see another handshake and I’m confident of that. It will happen exclusive of Mt Kenya issues.
The Wanjiku from Mt Kenya feels abandoned and left out. Let us not let this issue out of proportion
We have to give our Parliament the independence the National Assembly is granted by our Constitution.
Our president is following the blunder that his predecessor did.
I followed the constitution and brought an amendment to the NG-CDF act so that population can always inform the equitable share.
