Governor Njuki address residents of Igwanjau during his County wide seedlings issuance

Worth Noting:
- “Our milk farmers currently sell their milk to Meru County since we have no milk processing plant around. But when you got an opportunity of having an extra processing plant instead of giving it out to the people of Tharaka Nithi if you really care as you purports, you took it to Igembe making Meru County have two milk processing plants while Tharaka Nithi has none. Is that the kind of love you have for us?’’Njuki posed
- Thus governor Njuki said his county is an independent and Munya should accord it enough respect at any given time, asking him to take insults to his County.
Political differences between Azimio la Umoja coalition led by ODM party leader Raila Odinga and Kenya Kwanza alliance led by deputy president William Ruto has continued to escalate as August polls approaches.

Away from the war of words being witnessed nationally between the principals in the respective alliances, the same war is being replicated in the counties where politicians and aspirants allied to respective factions are engaging in fierce exchange of words in an attempt to win voters.
A perfect example is the on-going political war between Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki of Kenya Kwanza alliance and Agriculture CS Peter Munya allied to Azimio la umoja coalition.
During the on-going planting seeds distribution by governor Njuki, he is using the chance to ruthlessly attack CS Munya for what he says is poking nose into affairs of his county in a matter likely to suggest that the county is still an extension of Meru County where Munya was the first Governor.
Referring Munya as a political reject in Meru, Njuki further accused him of side-lining Tharaka Nithi in all the positions he has held before and he is now marauding the county luring residents into Azimio because he wants an endorsement to be Raila’s deputy.
Addressing Mitheru residents at Magundu primary school,Njuki accused Munya of flushing out Tharaka locals from Njoguni land when he served as interior security minister, but were luckily saved by the late Saitoti.
Also,he castigated Munya of failing to help out milk farmers from the county and instead concentrated on his home county which clearly shows the kind of a person he is.

Further, Njuki told residents that the CS has been planning for his arrest by the state for not joining Azimio, but he said he will not be intimidated by the state or anyone, daring Uhuru to arrest him.
“Get on with your plan and have me arrested even next week but I assure you I will spend the weekend in the cells but I will finally be out and my people will be waiting for me out here. The people of Tharaka Nithi are no longer fools and are ready to vote me in even in those police cells,’’ he told Munya.
Njuki who is seeking re-election on UDA ticket revealed that the entire Mount Kenya region has defected to William Ruto and now the president has been cheated by Munya that through intimidation and blackmail, he can be kept off from Ruto to protect the dwindling popularity of the president in the Mountain.
In a strong message to president Uhuru, the governor said CS Munya will not win any vote for Raila Odinga and if Uhuru want some votes for his candidate, he should bring someone else since Munya is well known for his evil deeds towards people of Tharaka Nithi.
Coincidentally during these seeds distribution programs, CS Munya was leading Azimio team in Tharaka Nithi county seeking support for Raila Odinga to become the fifth president of republic of Kenya.
Speaking at Katharaka where they also issued seeds to farmers and issuance pushed to further dates prompting jitters, Munya said Njuki has been launching national government projects in the county funded by President Kenyatta who he is now insulting every day.
Munya said Njuki had locked them out Chuka DC’s grounds and Marimanti stadium but they forced their way in for their meeting since the facilities are funded by public money.
“It was a shame for governor Njuki to deny government officials entry into facilities funded by public money but we left him ashamed by forcing our way in,’’ Munya said
He urged residents to shun corrupt leaders ahead of polls and rally behind president Uhuru in the remaining period so that they continue benefitting with state projects.
He accused the kind of Njuki of being corrupt to an extent of asking for tender kickbacks that has seen government projects stall since contractors are milked dry.
Munya was in company of Lands CAS Mburi Muiru, Fisheries director Mutegi Kabisani, Nairobi governor Ann Kananu among others.
As campaigns takes shape, much show down is expected with each faction maintaining that they won’t be shaken and will stand their ground to win voters in the August elections.
