Juja MP George Koimburi narrowly escaped being abducted by fleeing on a motorcycle outside Kiambu law courts where he had attended a court session.
The high court has since issued an anticipatory bail to the legislator pending determination of Kiambu law court Principal Magistrate Mwanamkuu Sudi ruling on Tuesday next week to determine whether different bond terms would be imposed on a case of the legislature failure to attend court.
The magistrate had extended Sh200,000 cash bail imposed on the legislator.
Drama ensued soon after lawyers Dan Maanzo, Ndegwa Njiru and others finished addressing the media outside the Kiambu law courts where the legislator was tipped that he was about to be abducted and was whisked away by his aides and boarded a waiting motorcycle and fled.
Uniformed and plainclothes police officers were at the scene.
While the legislator was fleeing unknown persons were seen to try to grab him from behind but failed after his team shielded him.
The lawyers, after witnessing what had happened, also scampered for safety.
