Police officers in Kisii are currently investigating a series of attacks that occurred during a burial ceremony in South Mugirango.
The ceremony was attended by Kisii Governor Simba Arati and South Mugirango MP Sylvenus Osoro.
Kisii County commander Charles Kases speaking at his office has confirmed that they have taken up the matter and launched an investigation into the attacks.
The incidents occurred on Tuesday during the burial ceremony of Boikanga ward MCA Paul Ayiema’s father.
MP Osoro allegedly felt that he was bypassed in protocol procedures, leading to chaos erupting at the event.
Commander Kases has condemned the attack and urged the residents to remain calm while the incident is being investigated.
He emphasized that people should not take the law into their own hands.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the attack.
However, both Governor Arati and MP Osoro decided to leave the burial ceremony halfway due to the disruption caused.
