By Faith Favoured Langat.
Dressed in an armour,
staring at the sun,
pleading you to sweep the hallmark of tribalism.
halitosis of innocent blood fresh in our nostrils.
Embrace new Africa.
Let the plea wallop in your flesh,
break roots that breed brutality.
It’s what unleashed fear in 2007,
sending many homeless,
leaving children under no care.
Embrace the new Africa.
a stave not,
forever call for unity,
for we have lost balance as a country.
Allowing statues broken by random political differences, brutality at the lead.
revulsion has reigned, like decades now,
but wounds never heals, ten feet below the sky,
dead burrying themselves.
Embrace new Africa.
walking through the living room,
empty chair,
tidy house,
constantly reminding me ,
how quick I lost family to political violence.
I loose everyday.
each time I stare,I loose .
Embrace new Africa.
Froothy lies, daily food from our government,
taking us to the old regime,
where heaven was promised,
but counterparts killed while they watch,
what a blind government,
heartless to even feel.
don’t run away from change.
Embrace new Africa.
It’s the last road home,
rising beyond horizon,
Allowing dust to settle, for we want see tomorrow.
loud babble,
rich or poor,we demand unity.
piety dictates,
Embrace the new Africa.
