Man Charged With Stealing A Motor Vehicle At Thika General Kago Mortuary

A man was arraigned today charged with stealing a motor vehicle valued at kshs.503,000 at General Kago mortuary in Thika .
Joseph Kariuki Njima appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Atiang Mitullah where he denied the accusations.
The court heard that on the 14th August 2018 at General Kago mortuary in Thika West Sub -county within Kiambu County with others not before court Kariuki reportedly stole a motor vehicle registration number KBZ 503 N Toyota Probox white in colour valued at 530,000 the property of Joseph Kongo Mwangi.
Advocate Kamau prayed for lenient bond terms.
Mitullah ordered the accused person to be released on a bond term of 400,000 with a surety of a similar amount and also ordered the accused person to be supplied with the charge sheet and witness statements and other documentary evidence to be supplied to the defense.
Meanwhile in the same court a middle aged man pleaded guilty on accusations of being in possession of narcotics drugs .
Francis Karanja Muniu appeared before Atiang Mitullah where he pleaded guilty for the charges of being in possession of cannabis sativa .
It is said that on the 12th February 2023 at Kiangombe estate, Thika East Sub- county within Kiambu county Karanja was allegedly found in possession of cannabis sativa (bhang) weighing thirty rolls of street value kshs.3000 which was not in its medical preparation form.
The prosecution told the court that the exhibit has been taken to the government chemist and she prayed for two weeks as the accused person had no objection to the application
Mitullah ordered the case have a further mention on 27th February 2023 before court number 9.
