Paula.O.M.Otukile owns a literature company meaning Strong women empowerment. The company is called Mulher Forte African literature Pty Ltd, and deals with awards, workshops and mentoring as well as publishing of books and advertising.
The eighth of March had been marked as an international women’s day and it is vital to empower women and discuss about abuse, gender based violence and other related issues!
Otukile said that Women need to speak out , hear what others says so that there could be more emancipation and way forward concerning the issues of abuse and household.
Otukile said that Africa is a country not a continent, that we need to come together in one accord to help each other, and the passport issues must be ironed out by our leaders in order to help free trade and international relations to go easily as few or low tariffs will allow women to speak, discuss, grow and do more business beyond boarders.
The various Africans writers shall meet tonight on Facebook room, and discuss how to stay connected and be liberated within relationships and in marriages.
Otukile noted that she long worked with Nonofo Phikane on workshops and Ndinaelao Moses from Namibia as well as Purity Masitsa which bring easy conversations and flow of ideas.
All these women are writers or authors and it is beautiful to see that these are all young women meaning their empowerment can extend further to other peers.
Mulher Forte African literature has produced a magazine run by the fellow writers called Listen to Africa which tells stories of these amazing young writers across the continent!
Furthermore Otukile says this season she hopes to bring the lusophones and francophone people to the conversation and workshops in future as Africa is diverse as beautiful!
We still have more to do as young Africans to make the continent into a better place, and also to speak out and stop abuse!
In conclusion Otukile said, she wishes to find more safe homes across the continent for the victims of Gender based violence, she said workshops and talking is not enough as after intervention the victims go back to the abusers.
