The Spouse of the Deputy President Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has advocated for strong family values as the basics for a strong nation. Speaking during the wedding of Isaiah Ng’ang’a, one of her security officers in Ruiru Kiambu County on Sunday evening, Pastor Dorcas said marriage works having been in marriage for the last 35 Years. Family values and chaplaincy form part of the four pillars of the office of the Spouse of the Deputy President Pastor Dorcas.

The Kenya Women’s Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA) has called on the government to urgently address the impacts of El Nino rains in Kenya. The women parliamentarians, led by Beatrice Elachi, termed the situation as dire and called for the declaration of the ongoing rainfall as a national disaster. Samburu West MP Naisula Lesuuda called for expedited interventions to ensure the safety and wellbeing of affected communities. Mandera Women Representative Umulkheir Kassim criticized the government for slow response to floods, particularly in the northern region. She urged the government to ensure a steady supply of food and non-food items and praised the Kenya Red Cross for its efforts.
Kabianga University students and activists participated in a 16 Days of Activism Against GBV walk, highlighting victim safety and community leaders’ role. The campaign aims to end violence against vulnerable individuals.
