Truly to say corruption is a huge concern and a crisis that is mocked by politicians. It can’t be waited for now action; Kenyans are uncomfortable with the life they are obliged to. Corruption is a decisive engagement that must be discouraged from the very person in grassroots so us to have a fearful growing nation of no intention of acquiring illegally and fast gains. It is not something to laugh at either have a perception of it.
Some politicians have used this platform of fighting corruption to clean themselves so that they can clinch to offices. Kenyan corruption cannot be fought by just rallying it by words, needs strategically seriously prosecutions. This can only be achieved through giving full independence to the anti-corruption agencies to give those criminals to the office of DPP for prosecution after appropriate investigations have been done. Significantly all this bodies; the court, EACC and DCI must work smoothly by having financial independence not just prosecuting political instigations.
Many cases that are in the court have taken years because they lack substantive investigations, others intentionally prosecuted due to political disagreements and aspirations. Yet a lot of public embezzlement hasn’t been returned, unfortunately clapping for the government can relief you from follow up. All these institutions that have been mandated the fight against corruption must be operationalized with financial independence that’s the DPP, EACC, DCI and majorly the court. Let EACC and DCI make confident investigations before they make a verdict. Significantly corruption cannot be a weapon for political good will, it is an institutional mandate.
