Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi has promised musicians that he will address their plight once he assumes office as the Head of State.

The Democratic Party of Kenya (DP) Presidential aspirant said the music industry required to be streamlined so as to full benefit musicians.

During the meeting, held in his office on Monday, the musicians complained that the government has done little to promote the talents of various artistes in the country making it really hard for them to cope up with the challenges.

After listening to various issues that they raised,  Muturi and the musicians agreed that they shall streamline the entertainment industry that has faced numerous challenges over the years.

“Our government will develop a National Music Policy to address these major challenges hindering the growth of the music industry in the country,” he told the exited musicians.

Notable artists and presenters present during the meeting included; Charles kingori, Hezeh Ndungu, Pst Ndegwa bull, Jane Muthoni, Kezia wa Kariuki, Wangechi wa Kariuki, Joe Morris, Karangu wa Muraya, Njeru Thiga and Mary Lincon
