Azimio La Umoja Kenya Moja coalition settled on Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua as deputy president after evaluating several factors.
The same methodology was used to come up with personalities who were nominated to contest various political seats.
And through that process, the coalition and those nominated and later cleared are optimistic that they will carry the day and deliver their respective seat.
Senator Charles Kibiru of Kirinyaga County and who is the Jubilee party candidate for the area gubernatorial seat has been preaching the above message as he criss-crosses the populous area wooing voters to support his bid and that of coalition presidential team of Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua.
Kibiru says that in the run up to nomination of Ms Karua, the coalition leadership met several times and evaluated the capacity and capability of several Kenyans who had shown interest before settling on the former Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister.
“Jubilee leadership supported Martha Karua bid to be deputy president after evaluating several things. There were leaders like Wanjiru Chege of Jubilee party who wanted the same position but ayer careful consideration, the party decided to support Martha Karua of Narc Kenya.ย And we are fully supporting them up to the end,” has been his message to the Kirinyaga people.
He further avers that the party supported his bid after scrutinising his record and his contribution as a Senator.
“You know I was elected as an independent Senator.ย What I did in that capacity is clear and visible by all and that is why the Jubilee leadership settled on my candidature for the governor’s seat in Kirinyaga County,”
Kibiru who is popularly know as C K has called on the voters in the area to support him and his running mate,ย Peter Ndambiri for prosperity.
“Just like the Azimio presidential team, we are the best bet for Kirinyaga County governor leaderships. I urge others to join us so that we can easily win this seat,” he says.
CK is facing opposition from among others the incumbent Ann Waiguru who is defending her seat on UDA ticket, former governor Joseph Ndathi who is The Service Party (TPS) candidate, Joseph Gitari of Narc Kenya and Women Rep. Wangui Ngirichi who is running as an Independent candidate.
