Kiambu County gubernatorial candidate Hon. Moses Kuria seems to have smelt a defeat in top seat race in the August 9 elections.
The controversial politician has submitted his name for nomination for a parliamentary job which could see him getting a chance to serve as a nominated member of parliament in either the Senate or National Assembly should he loose in the August polls.
The Chama Cha Kazi leader submitted his name to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and the Registrar of Political Parties for approval ahead of the elections.
The Gatundu South legislator together with her running mate Faith Mwaura will face it off against several strong teams who also support Kenya Kwanza Coalition which is led by Deputy President William Ruto.
The other candidates include Senator Kimani Wamatangi who has served as the senator for Kiambu for two terms. Wamatangi is a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate. The current Kiambu boss James Nyoro of Jubilee Party, Mwende Gatabaki of Safina Party, Independent candidate Patrick Wainaina who is the current legislator for Thika Town constituency and former governor William Kabongo of Tujibebe party.
Earlier during a rally in Kiambu, Kuria attacked his opponent Kimani Wamatangi claiming that he didn’t seek votes for their boss William Ruto but instead focused on his gubernatorial ambitions.
