Weekly Scripture reading from the book of Hebrews 3

Day 1.

Hebrews 3:1 Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.

Devotional teaching with Evangelist Thokozani Ndinisa

We are called and chosen to fix our eyes on Christ and on heavenly things. Let your thoughts be on Christ and his will. Don’t allow your eyes to move you away from pleasing God with everything you do. Our downfall starts when we decide to shift away our eyes from Christ.

Day 2.

Hebrews 3:4 For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.

Devotional teaching with Evangelist Thokozani Ndinisa

Each builder always try by all means to build a strong foundation for his or her house. Any house that is built on a solid foundation it will never collapse when storms of life, come to test the foundation of the house.

God is the builder of human beings.

God is the source of everything we see in this world.  God alone is the Creator of everything. He was there before everything came into existence.

Day 3.

Hebrews 3v5

Moses was faithful in God’s house as a servant, and he spoke of the things that God would say in the future.

Devotional teaching with Evangelist Thokozani Ndinisa

Faithfulness should be part of the lifestyle of every child of God in this world. Moses was a faithful servant of God, even us we should be faithful to God as we are called and chosen by him to serve him and his people in this world.

Moses was a prophet who prophesied about things that were going to happen in the future, even in our generation we still have prophets who can prophecy about things that will happen in the future. True prophets of God always receive their messages from God and they also serve God with faithful hearts and always live to worship God in Spirit and in truth.

Day 4.

Hebrews 3v8 dont be stubborn, as your ancestors were when they rebelled against God, as they were that day in the desert when they put him to the test.

Things which children of God are capable to do in the ministry :

■ To become stubborn even after God has spoken to them

■ To reject God prophecy

■ To disqualify God prophecy concerning their lives

■ To correct God word

■ To correct any prophecy which was prophesied over their lives by a true prophet of God,which they don’t approve or don’t like

■ To run away from God calling that is upon their lives

■ To exalt themselves

■ To highly exalt themselves more than God

■ To take God glory upon themselves

Hebrews 3:7 So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice,

Hebrews 3v8 do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert,

Devotional teaching with Evangelist Thokozani Ndinisa

Negative things  that people do after hearing God voice :

■ They harden their hearts

■ They questioned God

■ Develop a rebellious hearts against those who delivered a message from God

■ Start to live Christian walk based on being rebellious towards anything that involves God

■ Starts to question some preacher’s

■ Starts to question each prophecy they hear or which is being prophesied by any true prophet of God

■ Sometimes people will have doubts in their hearts

■ People will only honor God with their lips, while their hearts are far away from pleasing God or worshipping God in spirit and in truth

Positive things that people will do after hearing God voice:

■ Will aline their lives according to God will

■ They will live to proclaim the goodnews

■ They won’t harden their hearts against God will for their lives

■ They will choose to please God more than to love the world

■ The will submit their will to God,so that God alone must be glorified in everything they are doing in this world

■ People will honor God from the bottom of their hearts

■ Will be bold to speak the truth without favor of anyone

Day 6.

Hebrews 3v6 Christ is faithful as the Son in charge of God’s house. We are his house if we keep up our courage and our confidence in what we hope for.

Devotional teaching with Evangelist Thokozani Ndinisa

Christ is in charge of the house of God. Remember a church belongs to Christ, that’s why it’s known as a body of Christ. No preacher should own the church of Christ, since the Christ belongs to Jesus Christ.  Christ gave birth to the Church when he gave his life on the Cross. So Christ alone is the head of His church not founder’s of names of ministries or church names!

Day 7.

Hebrew 3v3 A man who builds a house receives more honor than the house itself. In the same way Jesus is worthy of much greater honor than Moses.

Devotional teaching with Evangelist Thokozani Ndinisa

Some people build a house just to receive honor more than the house they have build. Some houses don’t receive honor but people who have build a house, always receive honor and praises for the house they have built.

Jesus Christ is greater than any one who has ever lived who was once being called or chosen to operate in the five-fold minister’s.  Jesus Christ came on earth to fulfill the purpose which God sent him to fulfill in this world.
