Worth Noting:
- “My family is in Olmoran and this where I call home. I can’t sometimes move with my family all times a war comes up. I am old and can only run to the church for the help of God and mercies of our mother Mary. Elections will be over and we shall remain.Let us pray for the attackers to be contented with what they have instead of stealing in order to get more,”said Bernard Wachira a member of the group, probably the oldest.
- The youths who in most cases are used to trigger fights and conflicts were called upon to be ambassadors of peace during this period. They were encouraged to be even more prayerful and consider peace of the country as the only good thing they can do during this period.
Christians have been called to pray for the country so that peace can prevail before, during, and after the election period.
During a prayer and fasting walk, by the St Teresa of child Jesus Parish from Nanyuki, Bernard Wachira who is a chairperson of the group urged people to become their brothers’ keepers and reconcile with their creator.
“We have been walking all the way from Nanyuki since Monday. Our main aim is to pray for peace of our country and mostly our county. We have all had of the conflicts at Laikipia west and these pains because it is our brothers and sisters who are dying. We would want to ask our brothers and sisters from Baringo County and those from the West of Laikipia County to reconcile and live peacefully. Being your brother’s keeper during this campaign season and even after elections doesn’t pain,” said Wachira.
Christians were further urged to be ambassadors of peace even after the Elections season as this should happen every day of their life.

“The youth should take their lives as the biggest treasure. They should be in the front line to refuse doing dirty politics and not getting involved in any tribal wars. It is peaceful when the youths are united against all fights and conflicts,” urged Jacinta a believer in the walk.
These walks seem to be a reaction from the call by different Catholic bishops across the country.
“I urge each of you to take time to pray for the country during this Lenten season, and use this time to reconcile with your family members and neighbors. Let us pray for peaceful elections in our country,” quoted Bishop Joseph Mbatia of Nyahururu diocese
“Let all Kenyans and especially Christians observe this period by praying in supplication and fasting for God to hear us and heal our nation. Let’s pray for peace before, during and after election. Let’s also pray for Ukraine who are facing a difficult time,” Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Nyeri Anthony Muheria urged Kenyans.
