Worth Noting:
- Tourists used to travel for fun but if you visit Kuimba Shiri you are bound to enter into the edifying Chivero Challenge which is an international event designed to advance environment preservation, sports recreation plus tourism with health and wellness.
- Birds of a feather flock together, its a wonderful feeling to know that we have a park dedicated for bird life only. Kuimba Shiri Bird Park is situated in Harare and the sanctuary boasts of 400 species of wild birds. Interestingly, the collection has the largest number of indigenous birds in Africa. Bird life is offered refuge when zeroing on the injured and orphaned birds.
Transformative travel is one trend that has become the order of vacations for tourists. The trip’s aim is to make a difference to you first with the environment in tow, for charity begins at home. To say the least, a tourist should personally volunteer so as to propel as well as upgrade a destination’s sustainable mission statement.
Thus, Rome was not built in a day. Consequently, tourism has the same mantra because if visitors fail to get this, then we are in a boomerang tantamount to an impasse. Tourism is giving us a chance for people to show love for the various parks and nurseries since they sorely depend on our interaction.
As far as active ecotourism comes, most if not all of our organisations are nonprofit making. This is a bid for all tourism players to also appreciate our industry and not to think about the profit which can be accrued. Let’s think about our endangered species and look for ways to promote such parks so that they keep on running.

On the same token, birds are territorial and they are creatures of habit henceforth they thrive on sanctuaries and nurseries. The park is here to nurse them back to health and tourists are given this opportunity to let the birds out to fly free into the air.
That is releasing them back to the wild. It’s so inspiring to amass such a collection in our country. As a matter of fact, it’s a milestone because in the early years, birds were hunted for meat and some for the pure enjoyment of shooting them as it was a hobby. Additionally, Kuimba Shiri is ensconced in the depth of the infamous Lake Chivero which is a tourism wetland attraction in its own right.
Ladies and gentleman, it is approved as a noteworthy wetland cynosure so our birds will forever be safe for generations to come. All this is in the name of transformative travel which acclaims that birds are major players in the wild. Interestingly, tourists are always besotted when they look at a plethora of birds perched on trees or quenching their thirst in the lake.
Sightseeing comes into play for we need to see these birds and charm them off the trees. Come away and sing along to the morning glory.
