Climate Change

The 2022 Earth’s Day theme will be “Invest In Our Planet.”
Marked on April 22, Earth Day focuses on creating solutions to combat climate change employing environmental conservation.
Climate change is already influencing Kenya, with rising lakes in the Rift Valley and drought cycles in some regions. In August, scientists studying climate change noticed alterations that haven’t been seen in thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of years.
Since 2010, the Rift Valley’s and Lake Victoria’s water levels have been rising, burying riparian regions, farmlands, and infrastructure and precipitating a humanitarian crisis.
This year’s theme involves the world’s more than one billion people, governments, institutions, and corporations in recognizing collective responsibility and assisting in the transition to a more fair and prosperous green economy for all.
The movement aims to break down the obstacles built by the old, polluting fossil fuel economy, refocusing attention on building a 21st-century economy that restores the planet’s health, protects species, and creates an opportunity for all.
In perspective, the campaign is focused on reframing the conversation and accelerating action. In essence, the Earth Day Organization calls for the most important advancement of solutions to combat humanity’s greatest threat.
