The second edition of the Kenya Buildcon International Expo officially opened in Nairobi, drawing key stakeholders, exhibitors, and industry professionals from across the region. The three-day event, running from June 12 to 14, 2025, brings together leaders and innovators in the building and construction sector, with a special emphasis on modern technologies, sustainable materials, and smart infrastructure solutions.
This year’s expo, organized by Kenya SEPL Exhibitions, comes at a time when the country is witnessing a significant push towards urban modernization and affordable housing development. It also offers a platform for businesses ranging from local SMEs to global corporations to showcase cutting-edge products and services, network with peers, and explore investment opportunities in Kenya’s fast growing construction landscape.
In his opening remarks, Wycliffe Oparanya, Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development highlighted the vital role MSMEs play in driving growth in the construction industry, adding that expos like Buildcon create crucial linkages between innovators, manufacturers, and developers.
“The Buildcon Expo is more than a trade show. It is a reflection of Kenya’s readiness to embrace modern building technologies and to create opportunities for local enterprises to scale and thrive. We view such expos as critical to industrial growth, tech transfer and new investments especially for MSMEs, co-operatives and local manufacturers under the BETA agenda,” he stated.
Principal Secretary in the State Department for Industry Dr. Juma Mukhwana, praised the initiative for fostering industrial collaboration and technological transfer, stating that Kenya and India have a history when it comes to entrepreneurship.
“I encourage Indian companies exhibiting at EXPO25 to open manufacturing industries here in Kenya. By bringing together players from across the value chain engineers, architects, material suppliers, and government policymakers, we are moving closer to our vision of a robust and self-reliant construction sector,” he said.
Exhibitors at the expo include companies specializing in green construction solutions, prefabricated building systems, smart home technologies, and heavy machinery. Live product demos, business forums, and technical workshops are scheduled throughout the event, offering attendees hands-on exposure to emerging trends.
With Nairobi positioning itself as a regional hub for infrastructure development, the Kenya Buildcon International Expo 2025 is poised to cement its place as a flagship industry event driving dialogue, innovation, and investment for years to come.
