Nyeri County Assembly Speaker John Kaguchia says he is optimistic of bagging the Mukurwe-ini parliamentary seat.
Kaguchia has continued to intensify his bid to woo voters by among other things outlining his manifesto.
Top on his agenda for the local residents is ensuring every homestead is connected with electricity as well water for both domestic consumption and irrigation.
Yesterday, Kaguchia took his campaign to Githagara area at the boundary of Mukurwe-ini and Othaya constituencies where he addressed hundreds of his supporters.
On listening to his vision for them, the residents vowed to support his bid.
Kaguchia who contesting the parliamentary seat under the sponsorship of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket is competing with among others the incumbent Anthony Kiai who is defending his seat on The Service Party (TPS) ticket and Jubilee’s Eng. Kariuki Wa Muchemi.
Others are son of former area MP, the late Ngumbu Njururi, Njururi Ngumbu who is running on Chama Cha Kazi (CCK), Denis Githaiga of The New Democrats (TND) and Lewis Munyiri who is contesting as an Independent candidate.
