The implementation of the competency based curriculum was followed by complaints of its inapplicability. However, looking at this new curriculum, parents are involved making them and their children to have a closer relationship. As they help out with some of the assignments, parents are also able to know what their children learn at school.
CBC helps learners to know the importance of diversity by making them understand how different they are from others.
Learners are also taught the importance of unity and problem solving techniques. This curriculum also equips learners with creativity since learners are required to reason and understand rather than just focusing on exams.
The curriculum focuses on individual’s performance and enables teachers to help learners specialize on what they are good at.
This curriculum has to be fully supported by parents, teachers and stakeholders in the ministry of education to make it fruitful to the nation’s education. By the government’s support through supply of academic items required for CBC, the curriculum will run smoothly.
