Women have most recently, and in fact more than ever before come in a big way to claim their position especially in leadership, in various fields.
Our interaction today is with a special woman, a captain of the industry and an entrepreneur – Rosemary Murugi. Rosemary is the cofounder and CEO of Rockmix International, a leading brand in professional paints.

The director noted that there’s a huge opportunity especially under the affordable housing project that the government is rolling out. She however urged the government to be considerate and help the local Enterprises by cutting down on tax which has been a thorn in the flesh.
“We have been facing a herculean task with issues to do with tax. The Greatest challenge has been huge increment in import and excise tax. To add salt to the injury, the dollar is at all-time high, slapping importers with a heavy burden.”
That notwithstanding, the humble, composed, down-to-earth director noted that Africa has not been built yet and hence the construction industry has a huge opportunity to tap into.
She also hailed the ease of doing business most specifically on the aspect of access to credit.
“When we were starting the business, access to credit wasn’t a walk in the park. I had to cough out my savings and collate together with some investments which I liquified so as to have this “baby” on its feet and running.. but today thanks to financial institutions like Kenya Commercial Bank under its FLAME ( Female led enterprises fund) to secure funds specially tailored for women.
