The cases of cheating in exams which seemed to have been done away with are emerging. The latest case to be reported involved a third year economist students at Zetech University who is accused of selling fake examination papers for both KCSE and KCPE.
Oscar Brighton was arrested on Wednesday by undercover agents attached to Kenya National Examination Council. The suspect was in possession of fake examination papers, while others were stored in his mobile phone. Also he had created a WhatsApp group where he asked 1600 shillings deposit for humanities and 2600 respectively for sciences.
The suspect who is a serial offender is currently in custody, to be charged in contravening section 28 of National Examination Malpractice Act 29, 2012.
As KCSE is scheduled to start today, I urge the candidates to shun away from cheating habits. Instead they should be confident to face exams since they covered a lot in the past four years. They should bear in mind the consequences of cheating in exams before engaging in exams irregularities.
I have a message to KCSE candidates, cheating in exams do not define your life. Doing what is right in exams will always define you?
