After about a week of absence in the public limelight, former Deputy President and The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua, his spouse, Pastor Dorcas and their two sons joined the Christian faithful of the House of Grace Church, Nairobi for Church service.

In an operation by a multi-agency team in Nyahururu, two suspects were arrested while transporting sandalwood valued at approximately KSh5 million. The team, acting on reliable intelligence, sprang into action along the Nyahururu-Rumuruti road, where they successfully intercepted a vehicle bearing the registration number KAX 049C. Upon inspection, they discovered the vehicle was loaded with approximately 532Kgs of sandalwood. The driver, Edwin Tenai, along with his accomplice Daniel Makori, was arrested on the spot and taken to Nyahururu Police Station for processing pending arraignment.

Djibouti’s parliament voted to lift the presidential age limit, which is currently 75 years, clearing the way for President Ismail Omar Guelleh, who is 77 years old and has led the country since 1999, to run for another term in the upcoming 2026 general elections

The management of Amboseli National Park has officially been transferred to the Kajiado County Government, following the signing of a Deed of Transfer of Management Functions on October 14, 2025, and its gazettement last Friday. The county will now oversee conservation, wildlife security and tourism operations within the park. Revenue collection will be done through the e-Citizen platform under a phased sharing arrangement.

New KPCU distributed the first batch of 100,000 coffee seedlings to farmers in Ikolomani and Butere sub-counties, marking the beginning of this season’s planting under the Revival of Coffee Through Cooperatives Programme.
The exercise, graced by Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya, New KPCU and county officials as well as local cooperative societies leaders who are keen in empowering farmers to revitalize coffee farming in Western Kenya. The leaders noted that the batch sets the pace for continued distribution across the region, ensuring that registered farmers receive free, high-quality seedlings on time for planting.

Swift action by law enforcement officers in Kisumu East Sub-County led to the arrest of four criminals and the recovery of a Jericho pistol which was stolen from a bodyguard during Raila’s burial. Following a tip off the officers conducted a targeted raid on a house within Manyatta “B” slums of Mbeme area and arrested four suspects: Timothy Odhiambo, David Beckham Odhiambo, Tony Blair Omondi, and Harun Ibrahim. Upon interrogation, the suspects led officers to another hideout where officers recovered a Jericho pistol fitted with a magazine loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition.
