Stanmart Supermarket, located in Githurai 45 and owned by entrepreneur Mr. Kiwiri Gachuru, has unveiled a new customer-friendly payment plan designed to make shopping more affordable for local families. The initiative, branded as “Lipa Mdogo Mdogo”, allows shoppers to acquire household essentials, electronics, furniture, and groceries while paying in manageable installments rather than bearing the burden of full upfront costs.
Speaking during the launch, Mr. Kiwiri emphasized that the program was born out of a desire to respond to the financial realities facing many Kenyan households. “We understand that times are tough, and people still need quality products for their homes and families. This program gives every customer the opportunity to shop with dignity, flexibility, and confidence,” he said.
Under the new plan, customers can take home items immediately and spread payments across weekly or monthly installments for up to three months. This flexible approach is expected to empower residents of Githurai and beyond by ensuring that essential goods remain accessible even during periods of financial strain.
Enrollment into the “Lipa Mdogo Mdogo” service is simple. Shoppers can register at any Stanmart branch or sign up online through the official Stanmart App or website. A straightforward verification process and a minimal deposit are all that is required to qualify for the plan.
The service covers a wide range of products, including:
- Electronics and household appliances
- Furniture and home accessories
- School supplies and groceries
- Personal care and fashion items
By introducing this initiative, Stanmart Supermarket is reinforcing its commitment to financial inclusion and community welfare. The program reflects a broader vision of ensuring that every Kenyan household can access quality products conveniently, without compromising on standards or affordability.
Mr. Kiwiri further noted that the supermarket’s mission goes beyond retail. “Our goal is to bring convenience closer to every home. We are not just selling items — we are empowering our customers to live better,” he added.
The launch of “Lipa Mdogo Mdogo” positions Stanmart as a pioneer in customer-centered retail solutions within the Githurai area. It also highlights the growing trend among Kenyan businesses to innovate around flexible payment systems, bridging the gap between consumer needs and economic realities.
For many families, this initiative is expected to ease the pressure of rising living costs while promoting responsible spending habits. By offering dignity and choice in how customers pay, Stanmart is setting a new standard for community-focused retail in Kenya.
