South B Member of County assembly of Nairobi Waithera Chege has always stood firm and has been the voice of the voiceless and the downtrodden.
After all that sweat and effort, on Monday morning Waithera was all smiles after being encrowned as the Leader of the Minority in the county assembly of Nairobi.
From our desk here at Mt Kenya Times, here is what we wish Waithera Chege: We take this Honorous opportunity to wish her good health of body mind and soul, God’s immeasurable blessings and prosperity beyond fathomable limits.
Waithera noted,
“This is a new dawn for the UDA party in the Assembly. I am so much delighted by this opportunity to serve.
I am grateful to the almighty God for this opportunity.
I also thank the entire UDA Party led by H.E. the President William Samoei Ruto, for trusting in my leadership.
I also thank my colleagues in the Minority Party in the Assembly for believing in me
It is also a new high for women leadership in Kenya. Truly, going by the list from the Party, UDA and the Kenya Kwanza leadership believe in women empowerment.
I promise not to let down our members. I will work with everyone including those who have just been replaced. I believe in unity of purpose. We must restore confidence in the leadership of the party in the Assembly.
The next stage is for the Hon. Speaker to communicate to the Assembly of these changes. This is a straight forward matter. I know we are on recess now but our Standing Orders allow for advance communication of messages pending resumption.
I will be issuing further communication as we progress.”
