My motherland,
Your portion,
We own it,
It’s our Africa,
Our home, Our future.
Mother continent,
“Judge not your beauty,
By the number of people who look at you,
But rather by the number of people who smile at you,”
like the famous African proverb suggests.
It’s an honour to belong to you,
And own you for you are our own.
Behold Mother Nature,
Your beauty is of great value,
We love you for who you are,
We stand bold to expand,
And tell the story of a warrior you are,
Along with the one you shaped in us.
Admirable, is your crown of honor,
Dressed in an adorable bracelet of dignity,
A smile of kind gesture,
The best makeup you can ever wear,
The superlativeness of your sparkling eyes,
Gets us to lose ourselves in appreciating you,
Africa! You are more than just a home.
Like the African proverb say,
“Every open eye is not seeing,
And every closed eye,
Is not sleeping,”
Embrace yourself for the world of potential in you,
And abate every chunk of negativity about yourself.
Africa you are beautiful,
Know we look upto you,
As much as we stand by you,
Acknowledgeable, shelter to many,
An ace in the hole,
Forever to be cherished.
Adventurous is your style,
Doubtlessly, you are full of potential,
For you were accoutred with the best scenery,
Fearlessly, roll up your sleeves,
And work towards adding value to what you have.
From North to South,
East to West,
Via the Central portion,
We kick up our heels,
To the accretion of your wealth,
For it is worthy a round of applause.
Many may doubt,
Never give up,
Their misgivings shouldn’t worry you much,
Time after time,
The peregrinations may start to hurt a little,
But always take it slow,
Step by step,
You will be able to keep body and soul together,
Of course, you will survive in it all.
Bold and beautiful,
Our Africa, Our Future,
Our land, Our home,
Our oneness and love for you,
Will never sell you short,
For you are a rare gem.
